I've changed the blog layout and hope you all like it! :)
Hmm, I guess you guys know that we are planning to have section outing yah? Haha, yup that's right. We need more section bonding ok! So please make yourselves free one the 20th december monday. Still not confirmed but will update you all soon thru sms.

And please do not forget to practise your pieces and most importantly, your basics!! I hope those who went for the paramount brass masterclass have learnt alot of things about your basics and pass them to those who didn't attend. This way, we all improve provided that you practise what you learn.

And syf filming is coming up, you all will be playing "Whistle while you work"! And the coming days of practising drills will be tiring and frustrating, so please take care of your own health ok. Drink more water or tea also can, can calm yourself down HAHAHA.

Firstly I just wanna remind you guys to do the homework that Saiyuan gave us just now. The questions from him are : What makes you wanna come for band & how much band means to you. He specifically told all of us that he doesnt 1 or 2 line answers. Write as much as you can. Please find all the musical terms for all your scores. Write the meanings down in your notebook. I'm going to check on Monday.

Secondly,ticket sales! Remember what Kelly told you guys? She wants to have at least 50% of the hall filled by next week. That means we have to sell,sell,SELL our tickets. And remember,she said AT LEAST. Sell to everybody,your family,friends,neighbours,aliens,ants,whoever. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Thirdly,about the standard procedures for sectionals. I've come up with an idea on how we all can work together to bring down the stands and our files. Okay so,the juniors will bring everything down & I mean everything including the valve oil & tuners. The seniors will go down first,arrange the bench & on the fan. And when its time for pack-up,the seniors will bring everything that the juniors brought down back to the music room & the juniors will put the bench back to its original position & off the fan. Thats easy right? So we wont have confusion anymore. YES LIKE FINALLY!


I'm going to buy like a cute pencil holder. Please put your pencil in that holder okay? Thats to avoid you guys paying 50cents for not bringing your pencils to band practice. Okay,and please please work on your tongueing,I know its hard and tidious. Im trying too,Im trying my best too. Lets all work hard together and have the same goal to look forward too. Please do not mess up our cupboard. OUR SECTION CUPBOARD,its so neat and clean now. Oh and yes,please put your trumpet case on the shelve according to sec1,sec2,sec3 & 4.

Okay so firstly,we all need to buck up. Everybody has to give their all every single second. And we'll definitely make it,for sure. I dont want hear anybody complaining. Everyone has to work equally hard,its time we learn that we cannot depend on one another. Everybody has a part to play,not only the seniors. Juniors too okay? Please bring a notebook from next practice onwards. Any notebook will do,I want you guys to write down every single thing & detail Mr Lim,Miss Loh & Miss Chang said during combine. Looking at the way you guys are handling things & the lack of time really shocks me. Arent you guys scared? I thought you guys could handle such responsibilty by yourself. I guess I was wrong. Work on your articulations,dynamics & stuffs. YOU GUYS ARE NO MORE LEARNING SCALES!!!!! So please buck up. I dont wanna start screaming my lungs out. So help yourself before I step in

Dearest trumpeters , work hard for the upcoming SIBF . Remember what Ms Loh , Mr Lim , Siang Joo , Shaz all have said . I know that there are some of you who can't play a certain part of the pieces (including me) , but that doesn't mean that you should stop playing or just give up . That shows that you should work even harder & practice more . During combine or sectionals , don't just play out , must also take note of articulations , dynamics , hold the note for full value , listen to intonation & be IN TUNE ! If you know that you are not in tune , quickly adjust . For the 'Concert Warm-Ups & Chorales' just now , i'm sure we can do better then that . ***DON'T FORGET THE TEST THAT SJ GAVE the section !

To my beloved section,
You guys have done me proud, really. I'm very happy that you guys actually listened to what I've told you guys to do and also some of you had brought your instruments home to practise after the rehearsal day. Gald to see that, and also from today's performance, I can see that you guys are trying very hard to do whatever I've taught you guys. Although sometimes I'm really disappointed that you guys didn't do what I've taught you during combine rehearsals and sometimes I really feel like slapping you all but I'm very very very glad that you guys are progressing. However, there's still rooms for improvements so I hope you guys will not be complacent and stopped improving. You all must keep up the standard now, and comtinue to climb higher. As much as I really wished I could go back every practise to help you guys, I can't. Because after today, I'll have lesser time for you all and I might not be coming back to school on saturdays as I'd have to go peirce. It's time for you guys to be independent, yes, although I'm not there anymore it doesn't mean that you guys can slack. I hope that you guys will apply what I've taught you all and also practise. I'll definetely miss every single one of you, and of cos, I'll go back and help when I've the time to. Just hope that the next time I visit you all, you guys will be much more independent and also improved more to step up to a higher level. It's very nice to hear from some of the graduands saying that you guys improved, of cos, from Mr Lim. Keep up the good work, and this was the best gift we'd ever received. All the best, I love you all. :}
