Hey my lovable JUNIORS!

Im here to leave a message for you all! To begin with the message, I would like to say that I'm very touched by the close-ness that you guys are now. It brings me back to the days when I'm in regent! To section pics that we took together, the intense practices that we had gone through during SYF period, band camps, celebrations of birthday for band members and last but not least, the falling in and the dismissal of band practices.

Oh gosh, I'm being emotional now. haha. Anyways, you guys, my sweet lil juniors. Just do your best for tmr alrighty! I'm sure you guys have practised so hard that you can memorise your parts. Just have a good time on the stage and SMILE at Mr Lim because I'm sure he will be as nervous as you guys. No matter what the outcome comes to be like. You guys are the rockers of regent band alright! =)) Have faith and confidence in your playing. Everything will go smoothly!

All the best for tmr! You guys will definitely have our morale support! We shall take lots of pics together tmr! Sleep early and dont over practice on your trumpet!

Everyone brought your trumpets home today?

If you want to practise tomorrow, practise less than 1.5 hours.
To make the session effective,work on the parts which you're still unsure of.
Play pedal notes(Notes that are lower than F#)
Play Bb chromatic scale down. (Low notes)
Do not play too much on your high notes which cause you to tense up.
Look through your scores again and again!
Polish your trumpet too!

although im not playing,i can feel everyone's nervous.
remember, relax and relax. :]
take it as another performance.
i want all of you to rest well for tomorrow,don't stay up too late especially Noel and Hockhuey!!

SYF 2007 is in TWO days time .!!
Its going to be the first syf for the sec 2s , first and last syf for the sec 3s and as for nat , its going to be her second and last syf! im sure we would want to make this SYF memorable for her! shes' stepping down so soon , we will want her to step down happily , right ? not only for her , also for all the other sec4s and 5s who are leaving the band and the sec3s who are having their first and last syf! This syf must be very important to them . we wouldn't want to disapoint them right? so lets' all do our best on monday and also enjoy ourselves! Nothing should stop us from shining , including the judges and the audience-s. Just concentrate on doing our best! Maybe we'll get very nervous before playing , but before Mr Lim starts , just concentrate on playing the piece well . as our choice piece suggests ; a HAPPY overture . so we should be HAPPY playing it! be happy cos we have that one chance on stage! or happy for any thing under the sun! xD (i know im lame. hehs.)
-start recalling what mr lim spent time correcting on during combine and APPLY it on stage on 16 of APRIL 2007.!
- stretch out our ears and get in tune. INTONATION!

we shouldn't compare ourselves with other bands , RWS is RWS . we're unique , just like other bands. do not lose hope because of the results of the other schools , as long as we did our best ,nothing should be disturbing you . everybody is unique in their own way! =D

'Cos its Your Own Music and its all about Your Own Band, not others anymore.
Challenge Yourself but not comparing Yourself with other bands. :)
Do not get affected by other bands' results okay?
All the more you should encourage each other even more,especially at this point of time.
I believe all of you need motivation and encouragment now.

Hi trumpetors!

I haven't been really talking to you guys so i'll take this opportunity to do so.
i know its stressing and demanding. You've got Syf practises, studies, homeworks ,scoldings /naggings/expectations from parents etc.
So many things to handle and cope,yet so little time left.
i just want to let you guys know, no matter how hard circumstances or situations may you face, don't give up yet. You're reaching the finishing line soon! Would you rather waste your effort that you've put in from the beginning of the year or would you push yourself to finish the very last quarter race?

Reflect on yourself now.
What have you accomplished for the last 1 year/2 years/3 years or 4 years? Maybe you've learnt buzzing without mouthpiece?
Learnt to memorise only 7 major scales?
Learnt to do double or triple tonguing?
Learnt to sight read?
Learnt to do 4 octaves slurrings?
Have you really apply fully what your seniors and tutor have taught you?
Have you taken sectionals with tutor seriously?
Or do you just take it as some light sectionals.
Have you even practise before sectionals?
Maybe it's time we start reflecting. Also to note down what're the things you want to accomplish for this new year. Set a target for yourself. It will definitely benefit yourself,not others.

By the way, i'm not trying to make you feel guilty of yourself or even demoralise you. Please do not put it in this way. I still care for this section.

Please do not neglect your studies too. Studies and Band should work hand in hand. 50% for Studies and 50% for Band. :] This is how you should balance. Encourage and motivate one another in your Section and in the Band. When you see someone who's going to quit band soon, go and talk to her and encourage her. That should be the band spirit. :]

I hope whatever i've post ,trumpetors will put it into action okay. If you've got any doubts or things to clarify with, feel free to approach me directly. :]
